Eating Out In Thunder Bay

Randal and I  went  touring  in Thunder Bay to day.
It is my first time to see Lake Superior.

We went to the recently developed Marina Park.

While there we had a lunch at Bight Restaurant  to enjoy our view

I ordered the daily special Mushroom Reginette.
I consisted of escargot, cooked land snails,
truffles, a fruiting body of a subterranean Acomycete fungus
mushrooms, spinach mixed in a small bed of pasta and sauce.

Can you see it on the plate?
This is what it looked like before I started to eat.
Cost me $15.00

How better can that get?

The Global Coherence Initiative

I found this to be a very good site and had to share it.

THE GLOBAL COHERENCE INITIATIVE

What is Coherence?

When we refer to coherence, we are talking about a mental, emotional and physical state – where the mind, heart and nervous system align and function in a higher degree of balance and harmony.

On a personal level, being in coherence translates to: smooth heart rhythms, clear mind, balanced emotions and spiritual connection. IHM’s Director of Research, Dr. Rollin McCraty states, "coherence is the energetic alignment and cooperation of all of our systems."

Generally, these systems – cardiac, brain, nervous, hormonal and immune among others – are a reflection of your personal coherence, also known as heart coherence. The more coherent you are the better your systems function.

It benefits our mental, emotional and physical well-being to learn to increase and sustain a state of coherence. This doesn't always happen naturally in our complex modern world without us making some genuine effort. IHM and GCI have developed simple techniques that we can use throughout our day to help increase our coherence.

McCraty and HeartMath founder Doc Childre write, "Of the many new scientific perspectives that emerged from the 20th century, one of the most profound is that the universe is wholly and enduringly interconnected and coherent. Complex living systems, including human beings, are composed of numerous dynamic, interconnected networks of biological structures and processes.

A Reflection

2013 Bow River Flood Cochrane

It was good to see the rocks looking so clean
along the gently flowing Bow,
as I sat on a bench and reflected
on the changes we have witnessed these few months.

It was not long ago, flood waters, dark and muddy
rushed madly from the Rockies.
Today it looks happy and blue/green clean.

The river can be compared to ones life.
We rush through life, collecting
negative beliefs, emotions and attitudes.
Making no time to reflect inwardly.

River rocks were cleaned by the flood waters,
to once again sparkle brightly in the sun.
In our lives we can erase and let go all negativity.
Such in natures' beauty, so too in the soul.

Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park

How better can it be than to take a walk in the early morning?
The smell of the air, the silence of the hills,
the visual impressions of colours of the landscape and sky.
How close can one get to the Creator of all things?

7.9 kilometer  walking route

Cut Knife Archives

Randal and I spent two weeks camping on the Bertrand Family Farm
 near Cut Knife, Saskatchewan.

From our Open Range Travel Trailer we could see the deteriorating ninety year old house and the fallen barn on the hill close by. The yard is now surrounded by very tall trees with the well groomed yard, giving it a much different look and feel from years gone-by.

While there I researched the Cut Knife Grinder and Highway 40 Courier Archives for my autobiography

Lucille Bullerwell and I
Thanks to Lucille Bullerwell, the dedicated volunteer from Clayton McLain Memorial Museum and Archives in Cut Knife for the hours she spent with us.

We found so many interesting stories and reports in the the newspapers dating back to 1945 in the former Cut Knife Grinder and the present Highway 40 Courier.
