ELEANORE
(BUZIK) MACDONALD
Beloved
mother and grandmother, Eleanore passed away on December 22, 2012. Born
on April 22, 1936 in Krydor, SK. Her childhood was spent primarily
growing up in Saskatoon
and she attended Bedford Road Collegiate.
I first met her in the late 1950s during our training at the Provincial Psychiatric Hospital, North Battleford. She was there for one year. A group of us students became very close and loved to party. She was great friends to everyone and kept in touch with them for years.
After
I returned from my Europe Trip and had started in Regina, she
introduced me to Jerold Birstein. He was a friend of her-to-be
husband, Glen Macdonald. I
was a brides maid and Jerry a best man at their wedding. Jerry and I
were married shortly after. We kept in touch when we were raising our
families
Over
the years we visited and shared in their events. She was totally
dedicated to raising her children and grandchildren who she loved
dearly.
I
will always remember Ellie for her intelligent, witty, and
kindheartedness and a strong personality who stood up for the causes,
which she believed in.
She was great collector of sterling silver and working on crafts.
She was an avid reader and card player. She hosted and prepared many
fantastic meals.
She
was the past President of the Mental Health Association and she had a
great passion for politics like her parents, acting as a Returning
Officer in many provincial elections.
A few years ago Eleanore (Buzik) Macdonald, Marion (Bronch) Creswell, Jacqui (Dutruit) Sumarah
and I met in Candle Lake to reminisce.
We held such fond memories of
those years so long ago.
Peace
Be with you Ellie.
