The Open Range

Our plans are on coarse. Randal & I just had the Open Range 340  RV ordered with our personal specifications.

We are putting in an office so we can run our businesses as we travel.
It will be delivered some time at the end of April.

The Buena Vista home will be on the market the first of April. Our sorting and downsizing is coming along. We know all we need to take will fit into 340 sq. ft.

Today I am updating me contact list and calling long time friends. It has been good to be in touch with them again after years of not talking to them.

We are getting excited about learning so many things about our new home on Wheels.

Great Accomplishment

What an exciting day!

My Granddaughter, Lexi, turned 13 today.

She celebrated in style by being in Halifax where she received top award for the best work of art in the age 9 to 12 years.

It depicts a  Canadian citizen's contribution to made Canada a better place.

While in Halifax she, along with her mother, Lynne, (my daughter) were shown many historical places and took in the Canadian Winter Games.

Her artwork is posted on    Mathieu Da Costa Challenge site.

Energy For Healing

I am continuing with the sorting and eliminating a collection of information from my Nikken Office. I am only able to put a limited amount in the our RV office.

Yesterday I came across an interview from Dr. Garrett Moscos, N.M..D., D.C. who was the feature presenter at a Nikken Wellness Home Expo in Regina. This article came from notes that a Wellness Consultant had taken.

"Our bodies are intimately connected to two main energy sources: the earth and the Sun. The magnetic energy field of the earth and that of the our bodies both vibrate at the same frequency - 2 to 17 cycles per second. Our bodies emit the same heat energy (far infrared) as the sun. With out the sun, all life would die within a couple of weeks. Our magnetic field in the human body is a very low cycle of 2-18 cycles per second, which just strangely enough matches the earth's magnetic field, which is 2 to 18 cycles per second."

It is kind of wild when you think about it

He went on to say "The major problem is the billions and billions of kilowatts of produced power around the world, which is interfering with the earth's magnetic energy."

Nikken 's Magnetic and Far-Infrared technologies will protect our bodies against the EMF

Dr. Marcos explained "these magnetic and far infrared products can protect the body from the degaussing of EMF, plus provide energy to all of the systems of the body to function optimally".

Our new  RV  home will be include Nikken technologies

Enjoy the Journey

I received this daily quot that certainly has set the tone of my day.

Everything you do is for the purpose of the joy that it is giving you. And so, when you don't see something through, it means that it stopped producing the joy that you were hoping to receive. Of course, it is always better if you have anticipated something and you've stayed lined up with it. If you're lined up with it, then it's joy when you're thinking about it even before you start, and it's joyful as you start, and it's intoxicating as you're going, and it's fulfilling as you do it, and it's satisfying as you finish it and you're in alignment the whole way on that.

My Tool Kit

As we prepare for our RV Discover it Live it Adventure we are packing Tool Kits. Randal will have his & I will have mine.

To get the best out of it our preparation is very important. The energy we put forth will enhance our new life.

It is not just selling the house, down sizing, saying good bye to family & friends, looking for the most suitable trailer and truck, but also taking the stress out of tasks along the way.

My Tool Box includes a visit to Unique Energy to have a session in healing and getting into balance. That hour did wonders for me and I have been looking at my life in a much better way.

I learned how to do "Tapping"  EFT   from Monica.

Our New home on wheels will be a Wellness Home

Along the way we will be going to Calgary and booking in for energy and healing sessions at Britannia Body Works.

There will be others I will be adding to expand my learning and enjoyment to RVing!!!

A 1918 Barn

I was doing some more sorting and this story flooded me with memories. I spent many happy hours playing in this barn when I was young. I also remember the jobs my siblings and I had looking after the cows, chickens and pigs. Today the barn is a real land mark as you drive Highway 40.

Picture taken in 1956 of Ovide & Hughenna Bertrand Family Farm

This barn, 30’ x 70’ was built by Bob Douglas for Frank Swan on the NE quarter of Section 33, township. 43, range, 20, W3rd, one half mile north of the Hamlet of Gallivan, Saskatchewan.

The barn faces north and south with the east side cut into a hill with a 12’ x 12’ drive in loft door on the west side. The west side is a cement wall high up to the loft joists. The other three walls are of wood. It was built to stable 31 head, 23 horses and 8 cows.

There were 3 double horse stalls, 4 double cow stalls and 1 box stall on the west side and 6 double horse and 1 single stall plus 1 box stall on the east side. The 2 box stalls are at the north end and a 4 foot feed alley runs from them to the south end, in front of the animals in teach side.

The center driveway is 11’ wide with 8’ doors at each end. A 2 1/2  feet. walk alley near the barn center gives access to the feed alleys on each side.

The stairs to the loft are near the barn centre on the east side. Opposite these is a chop bin on the west side. Hay was put down from the loft into the feed allays chopped grain was down spouted from the grinder in the loft.

Ventilation was by 4 intakes at the floor level in the east side under the mangers and discharged through two wooden 21/2 ft. shafts through the loft set off center enough to allow the hay carrier to pass.

The loft walls are 8’ high to the roof eaves, the floor of 2-ply shiplap with the driveway having additional 2-inch planks. The north 28’ of the loft has a floor at the level of the eaves, leaving an 8’ high and 28’ x 38’ storage space for grain, fanning mill, grinder, harness or whatever. The loft was equipped with hay carrier and slings for off loading feed and team of horses backed out the empty rack. In later years, the 3 double horse stalls in the south east side were connected to a chicken coop.

An interesting story is told of the 1918 frost when it froze on the 23rd and 24th of July, devastating much of the wheat crop, Frank Swan said that nothing could be done about it now so they would have a dance in his new barn loft.

Ovide Bertrand in1928 acquired the property and it now owned by his son David. The barn stand empty now, but it is visible from a distance by the two galvanized ventilation cupolas on the rooftop often reflecting in the sun. It is located ½ mile south of Highway 40.

A Reflective Weekend

Spending a weekend of reflecting on the body, mind and soul is a good way to start a new week.

There was a book I had borrowed from my daughter that was on my night table for some time now without me having read it. When I read the first chapter it simply blew me away. The name of it was Matrix Energetics by Richard Bartlett, D.C., N.D. I found it to fit into to my beliefs and curiosity.

Randal also had found a movie that interested him  Spirit Space We spent time watching it.  It is a follow up to
What The Bleep Do We Know

As I am in this process of  "Down Loading and Letting Go" and putting together plans for a "RV Travel Adventure" there are many things I have came across which is making me reflect. These were a great help and confirmed our decision.

So I am focused and becoming clearer; building my "Support Tool Box" of information; and resolving any conflicts that pop-up. I am staying in alignment of what is most important to me and taking action.

Morning Sun Rise

The weather is warmer today and it has started with this beautiful sunrise.

Randal took this picture from our dinning room window.

I truly enjoyed having my breakfast with such a view before me. It does wonders for the soul!

Packaging Potato Knishes

Yesterday  morning I packaged the Potato Knishes. These are served with a meat meal instead of other forms of potatoes.

I made smaller "Veggie" Knishes later in the morning. The ingredients for the Veggie Knishes were  potatoes, cooked and mashed; and finely grated and/or chopped broccoli, carrots, red pepper, onions, and cabbage.

For seasoning I used one from an East Indian cook book: Garam Masala (cumin seeds, coriander seeds, cardamom seeds, black peppercorn, cinnamon stick, whole cloves, grating nutmeg, and saffron which were ground up to a fine powder).

I was very pleased how well the dough stretched and how uniformed the they turned out.

These smaller Veggie Knishes are more suitable to be served hot as Hors D'Oeuvres.

Good Day’s Work in Lorraine’s Kitchen

Last night 20 pounds of potatoes and 10 pounds of onions were pealed so I had a start this morning to make Potato Knishes.

First the dough had to be made. Then the potatoes boiled, seasoned and mashed and the onions cut and fries. These were mixed together in a large mixing bowl with an over sized potato masher.

By the time the potatoes had  cooled enough the dough had rested and was ready to stretch.

They were baked and cooled ready for the freezer and will sold to a customer.

The whole process yield 13 dozen knishes and it took 7 hours
