It was sunny and calm
when Randal and I met Elaine and Bev at the Country Lane Club House for
our hike to
Prairie
Mountain in Kananaskis Country, west Bragg Creek.
Randal and I drove there to join the seven other Country Lane Hikers and started out by going up a very rocky steep path. It has more elevation gain than our previous hikes, It was 3 km up to the summit.
We met a young lady who was training for her next adventure in the Grand Canyon. She said she was going to do this climb up and run down two times!

The head group was out
of sight before Randal and I got to a short distance on the very rocky steep path. We were stepping very carefully.
Randal and I knew this climb was not for us so we decided turned around and carefully made our descent.
We walked along Prairie Creek which was very enjoyable.
We checked out the Beaver
Lodge which was near the parking lot.
